The Fool
**Verse 1**
In the crowd of voices screaming loud,
There’s someone speaking like they know it all.
But when the storm comes knocking at their door,
They stand confused, not knowing what it’s for.
**Pre-Chorus**
Can’t tell the cause apart from the consequence,
Can’t see the victim standing in the silence.
Talking loud about justice and righteousness,
Yet trapped inside their own blindness.
**Chorus**
That is the fool…
Thinking they’re always right, spotless, never wrong.
That is the fool…
Hiding from the truth that’s waiting just ahead.
Saying, *“Everything’s fine, I’m safe in my world,”*
While a giant wave is rising, ready to swallow them whole.
Oh… the fool…
**Verse 2**
Quick to preach and quick to point their finger,
But never brave enough to face the mirror.
Today they swear they’re absolutely right,
Tomorrow the truth exposes all their lies.
**Pre-Chorus 2**
Standing proud on a castle built on sand,
Blind to the cracks beneath where they stand.
So many around us, you can’t deny,
Fog of ignorance covering their eyes.
**Chorus**
That is the fool…
Unable to think, unable to truly see.
That is the fool…
Drowning in arrogance disguised as certainty.
Saying, *“I’m okay, nothing’s wrong with me,”*
When the waves roar louder than their fantasy.
Oh… the fool…
**Bridge**
When the light of truth comes shining through,
They shut their ears, refusing what is true.
Never learning from their broken past,
Convinced that their illusion’s meant to last.
**Final Chorus**
That is the fool…
The tragedy is not that they are blind,
But that they choose to stay behind.
That is the fool…
Losing themselves in ignorance without a fight.
Nothing hurts more
Than a soul that never knows when it is wrong…
**Outro**
May we never become
One of them…
The fool
Who doesn’t know they’re foolish.
